Yes! and no. Dogs are allowed only during the summer months. During the winter when snow is used as drinking water, no dogs are allowed for hygienic reasons
The hut is up a high clearance 4x4 road, we recommend a vehicle that has high clearance and four wheel drive. Someone's ability to get to the hut is dependent on the make of the car as well as the driver's skill. The road typically is drivable from June – October although this varies year to year.
CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES must be made 30 days prior to your trip start date in order to receive an 80% credit for a future hut trip. Cancellations and changes made less than 30 days prior to your trip start date will result in forfeiture of your payment. No Refunds.
An email will be sent to you 7 days prior to your trip with the door code and other information about the hut.
No outdoor fires are allowed on the property. You are more than welcome to use the indoor wood stove anytime of the year.
Summer: In the summer bring your own water for drinking, cooking, and dishes. There are rain barrels up at the hut for additional water.
Winter: In the winter, melt snow in the large pots that sit on the woodstove – do not put anything in the pots but snow (no hands, fingers, or water filters). Only melt snow on the wood burning stove, do not use the propane stove.
Shoulder season: In shoulder season (i.e., when you can’t drive to the hut to bring water, and there isn’t enough snow to melt) there are two springs on the property. The first runs until mid-July and is located about 100 ft up the road from the hut and the other is year-round and about 700 feet down the road from the hut. This water has not been tested. We suggest you bring a filter.
